William M. Sams

William Sams is the Founder and President of Lancer Capital Group, LLC, where he leads strategic investments and development initiatives that drive economic growth and community revitalization. A dedicated entrepreneur with a passion for innovation, William has built Lancer Capital Group into a multi-faceted firm with interests in real estate, business development, and historic preservation.

William is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics at East Tennessee State University. He is a Beta Gamma Sigma member and a recipient of the Scott M. Niswonger scholarship. His passion for community development and service has been further cultivated through internships with the Town of Greeneville and the Greene County Partnership. These experiences provided hands-on involvement in zoning studies, economic development initiatives, and the creation of resources to support local businesses and municipalities. Additionally, William serves on the Membership Committee at Link Hills Country Club, working to strengthen community engagement.

In addition to his leadership at Lancer Capital Group, William is the Founder and Chairman of the Lancer Capital Group Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting JROTC programs and empowering young cadets in their pursuit of higher education and leadership opportunities. His commitment to service stems from his own experience in the Air Force JROTC program at Greeneville High School, where he developed essential leadership skills and a deep appreciation for mentorship and community involvement.

William’s entrepreneurial spirit extends beyond real estate and development. He is the owner of TriStar Trains, a thriving model train business that specializes in acquiring and selling model train collections. A lifelong railroading enthusiast, William’s passion for trains goes beyond business—he is actively involved in railroad preservation efforts through Railway Preservation Associates, a division of Lancer Capital Group, working with museums, rail organizations, and historical societies to promote and preserve railroading history.

Coming from a family of educators, William was instilled with a strong sense of purpose and the value of lifelong learning. Outside of his professional and academic endeavors, he enjoys working on his model trains, playing the organ, shooting, golfing, traveling, and indulging his passion for aviation. A devoted member of Notre Dame Catholic Church in Greeneville, he remains grounded in faith as he strives to make a lasting impact on his community and beyond.
